AOL has informed users that in early 2005 that service will stop access to
Newsgroups. Bummer. Sure, I can get to Newsgroups using the new Google
"Groups" feature or thru IE.....but the AOL format for Usenet is much easier to
read and manage. Send AOL a nasty email if this bothers you too.

Doesn't bother me at all, as I'm not over-paying for internet access in the
first place....

Try these site to get lists of free/public servers:
http://www.newzbot.com/search.php?q=comp.periphs.scanners -- found 25
servers that carry c.p.s)
http://freenews.maxbaud.net/
http://www.arcwebserv.com/jumpsite/usenet.html
http://www.newsservers.net/
And tons of others (google free usenet servers for more)

I also get that message, but I called AOL and they said that Newsroup access is
not being cut anytime soon.

But with AOL, who knows. If my account was not free I would have left a long
time ago.
