I was hoping that someone could tell me a way to change the network settings
to the home. When I install Vista it asked if I was using my computer at home
or in a work place. I selected work and now I need to change that to home. Is
there anyway with out haveing to wipe and reload or do a system restore. Any
help would be greatfull.

Thanks

They are functionally identical other than the icon, which you can change
via

'Network and Sharing Center' > Customize > Change > Pick the home icon

When I activate file sharing in the work version it requires a password. I
cannot get it to turn off that feature. So for the work network I would have
to create a user name and password on every computer for every user to access
files. In the home setting it does not require that. If there is a way around
that it would be great.

Thanks

Don't know then sorry, if they're not individually customizable via the
down arrow to the right of 'Password protected sharing', which mine are.

Control Panel>System & Maintenace>System>(left hand Side)Advanced system
settings>Computer Name(tab on top)>Network ID(button) pick what you like.

That worked great.... Thank you very much. I am kicking myself cause it was
right infront of me the entire time and was so easy to get to. lol

Thanks again

Go to the Network and Sharing Center and you'll see a list of options
under Sharing and Discovery. One of them is Password Protected Sharing.
Turn it off.
