Anyone using the Plustek OpticFilm 7200/7300/7500?

I would like to get a film scanner that has significantly better
resolution than my original Polaroid Sprintscan 35 (2700ppi).

Has anyone used the Plustek OptikFilm scannerr? The models currently
marketed in the USA leave something to be desired in the area of
dynamic range, but apparently have very good resolution, according to
the online reviews I've found. The newest models (available in Asia &
Europe) seem to be able to overcome the dynamic range issues with
multiple exposure techniques and Silverfast software.

I'm intersted in anyone's experiences.

TIA,

John

Do you really need higher resolution than 2700 dpi?
If you do not print more than occasionally larger than 8.5x11 all you will
really get is finer detailed scans of film grain and when you go to print
all the extra data in the higher resolution scan will be arbitrarily
stripped away by the printer driver (or whatever way you resize the image
for printing).
If you a a serious film user it would be more in your interests to spend a
little more and look into the Nikon line of scanners while they are still
being marketed as new.
You might also want to consider a higher end flat bed scanner with
transparency adapter. Some of these units can outperform older dedicated
film scanners.
