Specifically the DFI PS83-BL ..... I'm toying with the idea of picking up a couple of 160 Gb
SATA Seagate 7200.7 Barracudas on sale thru Feb 21st at CompUSA for $99.95 after rebate,
etc. Thanks, RR

Umm, weren't they $60 after rebate just yesterday? Although probably only
one rebate per (honest) customer.

What's the question though? Sounds like a plan if you need RAID.

I've been waiting for those to go on sale. Finally, last week WD 120GB
for $119 after rebate. I went for it. Now the Seagates are on sale. Go
figure. I have set them up in Bios, but not installed XP yet. I have
Intel D865 mobo.

They are $99.95 ..... were $199.95 on Saturday just before the Sale started on Sunday. If
you've seen them lower, then please show us where (one for my brother-in-law and one for
me).

if you can run to them, the 76GB western digital "raptor" drives (10,000rpm,
support command queuing) are the fastest IDE drives you can get....

I may've been remembering wrong... I think that "some" 160GB drive WAS on
sale, $60 after rebate on the 15th and 16th, but it may not have been a
Seagate, possibly their Compusa house brand, which AFAIK is Maxtor
reboxed.

I am running a 160 gb Sata Barracuda from Seagate Personally Its been the
fast HD I had ever ran, and I have only ran Ide's before, but never top of
the line Ide's
I paid $170 Cnd with no rebate.
my Mb is a Abit IS7

Thanks .... that's the kind of info I was looking for as the IS7 is very similar to mine
..... and US$125 is about right for mail order OEM 160 Gb SATA Seagates.
