Is anyone running Windows 2000 on an Intel HT chipset/CPU capable mobo with
HT enabled? If so, any caveats that I should be aware of (besides the fact
that W2K doesn't use HT effectively, if at all)?
The reason for my question is that I contemplate getting an Intel HT
CPU/mobo replacing my current AMD/W2K system and want to use all current
hardware cards including a TV capture card. Research tells me that the TV
capture card will not work if HT is enabled and may not work with XP.
Disabling HT (besides losing HT advantages) means that I'll probably see a
10 degree (C) rise in temperature. Not good. So I'm thinking about a dual
boot setup (W2K and XP) wherein I use W2K when I'm doing TV capture, and use
XP for all other work.
