I was in the middle of a fairly large download of multiple files and things
slowed down dramatically. When my downloads were finished after a few
minutes, I ran a couple of speed tests on my DSL connection. Speeds were
down a bunch. I usually manage, on these tests, to see a downstream speed
of about 1.25 to 1.35 mbps. Instead, I was seeing speeds of 0.75 to 0.90
mbps.
I called a friend, who has the same ISP as I do with a DSL connection, and
he was getting the same thing. So I called a friend in Reno and had him
check his speed. He has a different ISP than I do. Same thing! He was
down by at least 30% to 40%. He called a friend of his in Dallas and she
was experiencing a major slowdown.
I'm just interested to see if there are any other reports of slow throughput
this evening.
