Anyone Know Remote Desktop?

Hi Everyone,

I have a computer running XP Professional. I also have a computer
running Red Hat 9.0.

Here is my strange issue: Now I can SSH into my Linux box from work
with no problems. I get in and everything is sweet.

However, I cannot seem to get into my Windows box. My friend, from his
work can use Remote Desktop to get in, but I cannot.

I tried VNC, and although I connect (it prompts me for a password), I
just get a black screen and VNC crashes on the server side.

I used this SSHD Daemon for Windows called BitWise, and with that I was
able to use Remote Desktop, but it was not stable and crashed every few
seconds.

So, I'm trying to find out why I cannot Remote Desktop into my box but
I can SSH into my Linux box. But my friend can........

Any thoughts or ideas?

You hadn't open port 3389 on you home router ? Have you checked 'Allow
Users to Connect Remotely' in the 'My Computer' -> 'Properties' ->
'Remote' tab ?
 
Hi,

Have you checked with your work's network admin to see if this is allowed?
It may be blocked by function or by port.
