Hello, in upgrading my fairly late model HP system to vista, I seem to have
lost the old ROXIO CD writing software that came with it -- that is, it is
no longer compatable. That package had one good feature which I miss, it
could read and write ISOs to DVDs (and CDs). I was using PowerISO on Vista,
which generally has some useful functiion (iti can mount virtual DVDs and so
forth), but discovered today that it seems to not be able to produce
anything but coasters if I try to burn an ISO to a DVD. Anyway, any leads
appreciated...

I like Nero. Download the trial version off their website (version
7.7.5.1). I'm not sure it's cheap but it works great for me.

The built-in DVD Maker in Premium/Ultimate editions works for me. It's free
and you don't have to download or install anything.

Dustin,
I downloaded and checked the ifrarecorder package and it is really a very
good recommendation, and seems to be quite capable of its functions in the
Vista environment. Thank you very much for recommending it as I would have
never stumbled across this obscure but fine piece of software otherwise...

Which version did you download for Vista? I see nothing about Vista
compatibility.

Download version 0.42.1 for Windows 2000/XP (2.29 MiB).

First one at the top. Doesn't mention Vista, but I haven't had any problems
with it running at all.

I've seen ImgBurn_2.2.0.0 recommended.

I've installed it but not had a chance to burn with it yet. However the
display looks good and complete and it picked up my two DVD burners,
one SATA and one IDE.

Do a Google on ImgBurn
