Anyone here heard of the OnePlus One?

Ohhh very nice! I've had my eye on this for a while :).

What are you thoughts on it so far?
 
What is it? A phone or a tablet? No, seriously, I browsed all the guff and I couldn't actually see what it was.

Such very clever marketing, appealing to it's own created exclusivity.

Talk about snob factor, a masonic device if ever there was one.

Make something hard to get, make it exclusive, call it the best and folks will be suckered.

Cynical? Moi?

Well, yes, in this instance.

Anyhow, don't listen to Mr Grumpy, enjoy it.

(I can just imagine my three offspring falling over themselves to get one of these)

Edit: Ok, I explored further - it's a mobile phone.

Never understood how folks can get so excited over a telephone - hurrumph!

(And if one more person walks into me whilst walking and looking at their phone at the same time, I won't just shout at them, I think I'll slap 'em ;) )
 
not sure, these days, if they are trying to be phones with cameras, or cameras with phones.

I'll stick to my Nexus 5 and Sony A58. :D
 
I wonder sometimes whether I should just keep quiet and I'm too cynical.

Great phone I suppose if you're into all the extra functions, it's the marketing of this thing that gets my goat up really, appealing to all the worst aspects of human nature imo.

Henceforth I shall keep my lips sealed on this methinks ;)

So far so good! All the bugs in the OS that were reported in the early reviews are gone, The next OTA is due soon, that fixes some battery drain issues, though I thought it was quite good as it is already.

Love the stock android feel and the extra tweaks are great, theme store etc. Its a hell of a lot of phone for the money. :)

Flops, I dont care for the marketing tbh, for me it was all about the specs of the phone, and the price. I dont like the invite system of buying one and tbh I was close to giving up, but then I got one out of the blue.
