I'm interested in the HP-5650 and since it is relatively new was
wondering if anyone
has any experience with it yet? Not too many user reviews to be found yet.
Also will it print borderless 4X6 on non HP paper (4x6) without the tear
off tab?

Thanks
John

Think this is a great printer it has RET4
Also the lid is full width so access to print heads and the cleaning station
is direct
Its based on the 5550 print engine so quality is top notch
Think its a good buy

This also a 5000 page per month printer and fast draft text mode is 20ppm
Its going to be a noisy printer I think would check it out at a shop if
noise is a concern

I know that some "borderless" printers will will only print borderless on
three sides
unless you use the 4x6 paper with a tear off tab at the bottom edge.
will it print borderless to all four edges using regular 4x6 paper without
the tear off tab?

Yes, the DeskJet 5650 will print true (4 sided) borderless on 4x6, 5x7, 8x10,
8.5x1, A6 and a few other standard photo sizes.

The printer is *not* very noisy as another poster suggested.

Is HP going to start selling "regular" 4x6 paper? I get the best results on
HP paper, so aftermarket papers don't really appeal to me. It seems like
your only choice is to use the tear-off tab 4x6 paper to aftermarket 4x6
paper without the tab.

http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=bpa04048#P7_301 lists
several options for 4x6" paper without tabs as well as un-tabbed 3.5x5" paper.
Since this paper was intended for the new line of printers that are just now
showing up in the stores it may be some time before they show up at your local
outlet. The media does seem to be available now from
