Anyone ever figured how to make a report with the wizard, without it
cropping fields/headings?

The wizards been trashing reports as long as i can remember - there must be
a fix by now - isn't there?

I've found a trick that does work albeit fiddlier than adjusting the report
after the wizard has trashed it

The wizard has an option "Adjust the field width so all fields fit on a
page". If that is checked then what else can the wizard do when there are
numerous fields except to make the controls narrow enough so they fit?

As I've stated before. If you've advanced enough in Access to complain
about the wizards you should be advanced enough to stop using them.

i dont expect the wizard to squeeze a pint into a half-pint pot - the wizard
trashes text fields irrespective of whether they will fit or not - it always
has done & continues to do so - but if you don't use the wizard you may not
know

I have VB but alas my students don't - they only have 3 hrs to complete
their database exam - they can't afford to spend an hour of it editing 5
reports in design & they're only allowed 3 errors which is not really fair
anyway

i spose you're really telling me that you have no fix - i'll keep posting it
once a year until someone figures it out :o)

thanx anyways

I don't understand the issue I guess. If labels are too narrow you select
them all and then double-click a sizing handle and all of them will be
auto-sized to the text that is in them. For the data in TextBoxes you can
select them all and set CanGrow to Yes. After that it should just be a
matter of moving a few things around.
