If so, I'd like to post a request for assistance. If not, I won't bore any
more folks with the details of my problem.

Thanks.

I am running Sling Box on a Vista 64 bit Home Premium machine. Had no
problems from the start through a couple of updates. Don't know if I would
be able to give technical advice, though I'll monitor this forum and see
what I can do.

BTW, our daughter and family use their computer in Singapore to watch our
television. Neato!

Hi --

Thanks for being a good sport about this. If you can help, it will be
appreciated. If not, your effort will still be appreciated.

The situation is that I have a new HP DV4T notebook with Vista 64 bit and a
new Slingbox Pro-HD and am having trouble making the HP DV4T cooperate.

The Slingbox is configured to use Port 443. (Had no luck with the
recommended 5001 port.) Have forwarded 443 both for TCP and UDP on my home
router.

I believe the Slingbox configuration is correct because it works as it
should with the Vista 64 computer on my home network and I am also able to
remotely access my TV from my work desktop that uses XP Pro.

The problem exists only with the Vista 64 computer when attempting remote
access, whether it be from the same wired network at work where I can
connect from my workstation or from any of the nearby wireless networks that
I have tried.

Have tried totally disabling the Windows Firewall and totally disabling
Norton 360. Have "trusted" everything on my work network where I am
attempting this from. (It is not a question of a Network Administrator
blocking some ports because I would be the only one to configure such.)

Have allowed Ports 443 TCP and UDP on the firewall.

Still no joy.

Any thoughts on what I might be overlooking?

Thanks.

Zan
