After recieving an RMA# from ATI, I returned my AIW 9700 to them which they
signed for on Feb 8th in Tonawanda, NY. I still have not recieved my card
or any emails regarding my card. What are some of your experiences.
Thanks.

My experience of ATI customer service is Second to none. I had a 9800xt
which was damaged upon arrival sent it to them with a note and an RMA number
waited a week and it came back. You could ring them to check.

That's a bit long of a turnaround but I would expect you will get your
card very soon. If not fire off a complaint to ATI head office in
Markham, ON.

I waited 12 days for a refund for a RMA'd board, then i phoned them
and within a few hours i received e-mails stating they had received
the board and my refund would be processed in a few days

I don't know where you would send your card but I sent mine in to
Thornhill (Toronto) on a Tuesday and I had it back that Friday. I'm
about 3 hours from Toronto.
I never received e-mails from them, other than getting an RMA#.

I have sent back 2 AIW9700 cards on separate occasions, both replaced
by AIW9800Pro's in 2-3 weeks.

It took two weeks from the time I sent them my defective 9800 Pro till I
received what looked like a new replacement.

Do you think they would do this for a defective fan on a AIW 9700?

I wouldnt mind getting an AIW 9800 as a free replacement card.

Thanks for all of your replies...anyone know an email address or snail mail
address or phone number for complaints? It's not a big deal but my Geforce
4 TI400 just doesn't handle new games very well.

Try (e-mail address removed) not saying that's it but just about every company
uses (e-mail address removed).

ATi will most likely just send you a replacement fan.

I don't think so. The fan on my 9600 Pro started to crap out and I pretty
much begged them just to send me a new fan, thereby saving us both the time,
expense, and hassle of RMAing the whole card. They ignored both my RMA and a
subsequent email. It was either send the whole card back via their RMA
process... or nothing. Idiots.

Abit pulled the same shit with me over a noisy NB fan. ****ing dorks.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure there were a few users reporting success with
requesting a new fan from ATi.

Anyway, if you have to send the card back, for a few bucks more than the
cost of return shipping you can probably get a VGA Silencer...

ATI said the same to me regarding my AIW Radeon fan. Fortunately I had
another AIW Radeon and swapped the fan off that one so I could keep using
the card and just sent off the defective fan in the package labelled with
the cards RMA number (the instructions provided did say to return only the
defective item after all). After about a couple of weeks a new fan and
heatsink turned up with a courier at the door. I took the new fan off the
heatsink and attached it to my existing card (which I'd kept using the whole
time) and all is now perfect! Sure they're set up for a complete card
replacement but if you send in the defective fan and they have all the card
details (to confirm it is a genuine built by ATI card), they are eventually
reasonable (at least in my case).

My biggest concern was that the cost of the express courier to ship the
excessively large atomic bomb proof package with a tiny HSF inside all the
way from Canada to the UK within a day or two must have far outweighed the
value of the fan. I would have been happy if they'd sent it in a small (but
sturdy) box as register/signed for post and it had taken a week or so in the
post.

I returned my 9700 Pro because it crapped out. In two weeks I received by
FedEx a new 9800 Pro.
I am very pleased.
