Anyone confident in embedding fonts in 2007

I never embedded fonts in 2003 after some bad experiences with files
locking up and getting corrupted. Has anything changed in 2007? Anyone
having consistent success (or failure) with embedding in 2007?

I don't know that we've seen any reports of this kind of problem in2007
(or any of the earlier versions).

Just to be sure of something though, do you really mean locking
up/getting corrupted, or are the presentations opening as read-only and
not allowing users to select shapes or edit anything?

I ask because that's deliberate behavior on PPT's part when an embedded
font doesn't have full installation rights and the user doesn't already
have the font on their PC.  And it gets triggered by mistake in some
versions when you use Arial Black.

I've actually had both experiences in the past, although I didn't
fully understand the deliberate read-only. At any rate, that's reason
enough for me to continue to avoid it. Thanks, Steve!
