anybody know whether a tyan S8236 is EATX or EEB?

Various vendor sites sell the tyan s8236 calling it an SSI EEB
motherboard.
Yet the Tyan site calls it EATX. and it seems like the tyan site
isn't entirely
consistent, or has been in the past.

anybody know for sure? i've never seen an EEB -- is this something
that would unmistakable from a photo?

There is some info here. But the holes don't exactly match the next doc.
They treat EEB and M-ATX as interchangeable here, and these guys make
at least one computer case that takes E-ATX.

So the outer dimensions seem to be similar. The holes don't exactly match,
as the Silverstone drawing is missing CEB third column holes. But that's not
important when comparing M-ATX to EEB.

They don't seem to standardize CPU mounting holes, and there is a
possibility the CPU heatsink bolts down to the chassis rather than the
motherboard PCB material. I don't know how that is accommodated.
The two spacings of AMD coolers, would not match the spacing used
by Xeons. The Xeons likely have more holes as well, for their
mounting. On a desktop, coolers either fasten to the motherboard
(bolts), or fasten to the CPU socket (tabs, clip). A desktop cooler
doesn't usually mount into the motherboard tray or chassis metal.

M-ATX apparently doesn't have a spec. Do I believe that ? No. And
as usual, the formfactors.org site isn't giving up any secrets it
might be hiding. As far as I know, Intel owns that site, and could
really be doing a better job.

finally got through to tyan customer helpstar (so-called).
it's EEB.
