Anybody Found a Virtual CD App For Vista?

I can't get Virtual Drive 8, 9 or 10 to install on the RTM (I have sent an
email to Farstone asking about compatibility).

Has anybody found an app that allows the mounting of virtual CD/DVD images
on Vista? I have all the original media but I use the images to install
apps because it's easier than getting the CD's out of storage. An app that
will accept Virtual Drive images would save me a heck of a lot of time as
well!

I'm still waiting for Nero ImageDrive to be sorted out.

I just tried the VirtualCD from MSDN. It only mounts when you right click
and select Run as Administrator - otherwise it errors that SCM could not be
opened: Access Denied.

You can also get a drive created and drive mounted but, once mounted, you
cannot access the drive.

Too bad because this lightweight virtual CD tool has been a favorite utility
of mine for years.

Wow, thanks for all the input everybody :-)

I tried Magic ISO as the first suggestion and it's fine, managed to
install my Belkin UPS s/w no problems.

Vista did complain but at least installed it, with Virtual Drive it just
flatly refused to install, will have to get used to that I guess.

Recommend against daemon tools. Conflicts with other cd software and
crashed vista badly. Try alcohol 5% or virtualclonedrive. Nero still
hasn't released image drive for vista, but it's expected soon.

Ah thanks. I needed a virtual drive just now so I tried this and it works
nicely. I see why you like it, but I will still use Nero ImageDrive when it
is finally fixed as it is a bit neater.

I am installing software (on a disc image) from the admin account with no
probelms with this tool. (I have UAC turned off if that means anything in
this context).
