Any wireless adapters working

I have spent hours searching the posts here to find anyone who has got a
network adapter actually running from start. I read one post that someone had
got a Linksys WUSB111 to install and work without any problems. I immediately
went out and purchased the network adapter, but it did not work either! I
have tried also a Netgear RangeMax WPN111 but it does notinstall either. Has
anyone actualy found a network adapter that actualy installs and connects
without any problem?? If so i think many people here would be happy to know.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I succeded to make a Trendnet 424UB (usb wireless adapter) work under RC1 by
installing its XP driver. It worked without problems and a check for update
installed the "Vista driver" based on the chip (Sis123) used by the Trendnet
adapter.

Hope it helps

Thanks. I will look into that.

Well, success - of a sort. I need to reboot the router one or two times and
then it will see the other computers on the network. It needs to be done
each time I boot into Vista - and then sometimes it needs to be done even in
the same session.

Years ago networking was regarded as a 'black art', but things gradually
improved so that it was relatively simple in XP. Vista seems to have taken
one giant leap ....... backwards in this respect.

Router is a Netgear WGT624 - a wireless router with cable and points for
wired connections.

The Vista computer has a wired connection to the router and works absolutely
perfectly when I dual boot the same machine into Windows XP x64 Pro.

Must be one of the lucky ones - Three computers networked through a Linksys
HDG200 (Home Gateway) Wireless Router, 2 x Belkin F5D7000 (Broadcom Chipset)
PCI Cards, 1 x Belkin F5D7010 PCMIA Card (on a very old Thinkpad) all worked
(and have continued to work) from first installation of Build 5384 through
to RC1. No problems whatsoever (hope that's not the kiss of death!). I can
access all the computers without any problems (i.e. can Map drives and
access them) but can't see them on the Vista Network Map as the other
computers are running XP/Win98 and can't get hold of the (LTTD?) Responder
to install on the XP Machines (only released to TechNet subscribers I
believe).

Are you using Vista 32 bit or 64 bit? If you are using the 64 bit version,
then 32 bit drivers won't work. Go to the manufacturer's website and search
for drivers. If they have no 64 bit drivers for Vista, you might try drivers
for XP PRO X64.

I solved my wireless issues by upgrading the firmware on my router (linksys
WRT54G). I was constantly dorpping/unable to find network until I
upgraded.....

Hello Pascal,

What pilote did you have used exactly ? This is a 242UB "A" version or "V2"
version?
Have you download the pilote on the trendnet web site? or ?
Could you help me ? Thx
