I'm looking for an inkjet for mainly photo printing and general
documentation. Maximum budget is about £100, though I'd like to spend a bit
less.

Currently I'm looking at the Epson Stylus Photo 830U, as I've seen the
output and on good paper it can pass for a photo. Also at £65 it's sensible
budget and my Stylus 880 got through a good 5000 pages on £1.99 ink
cartridges which each did about 700 pages.

However, I've seen reviews at Toms Hardware which claimed it was behind the
other manufacturers on quality. Unfortunately though, while highly zoomed
samples were shown for the other printers, none was given for the Epson, and
I just don't trust the words at Toms hardware, though their benchmark graphs
usually look fairly accurate.

I am also tempted by the Canon i850, which is over budget but the print
samples in the shops look better than those for other printers.

Any comments / pointers to reviews welcome.

I've just bought an HP 7260 and it's output quality is excellent. I got
one for £84 inc P&P, but HP cartridges can be expensive, though easily
refillable by the look of it.
