Is there any way to search for specific words within a single document when
using IE6? -- in the same way that I can search when the document is a PDF
or word processing file.

Thanks,
MaryL

Thanks! This is very helpful to me. The interesting thing is that I wasn't
using a Windows shortcut to search (and didn't even think about that). I
have been using the icon to search in Adobe Acrobat Reader and F2 to search
in WordPerfect (because I still use a keyboard setting to match all my years
of using WP under DOS and the early versions of Win). So, thanks again.

You might try checking the menus, too (Edit -> Find).

Good suggestion. My brain must be malfunctioing when using IE because I did
know to do that in various programs -- just didn't notice it for IE.

Thanks,

Open any program
Start on the menu line from left to right
Open file and click on every menu and read
Open menu and click on every menu and read
Open and click on every menu and read
Open view and click on every menu and read
Open insert and click on every menu and read
Open (Every Menu Item) and click on every menu and read

Thanks so much for your very polite response. I realize that I missed an
obvious solution here (but others were much more kind in responding). As
for me, I *have* given assistance to others on numerous occasions. In other
words, a little politeness can help. If you don't like the "ignorance" of
the message, why not just ignore it? ...so much easier.

Hi MaryL,

FWIW, Ctrl+F will also work in Adobe Acrobat Reader and WordPerfect
and shows in the Edit menu as the shortcut key in both (at least in
WP7 and WP8, which are the only two versions I have installed at the
moment, though F2 was certainly shown in WP6)

Thanks, Alan. I have used WordPerfect (and Quattro Pro) for many years, so
I still select the Win 6.0 keyboard (essentially the same as the old DOS
keyboard) because I made such frequent use of the programs and knew almost
all of the keystrokes. For example, I still use F2 to search in WP and
<home><home><up> to move to the top of the screen, etc. However, I do think
it is time (probably "past time") for me to simply accept the default and
learn the Win keystrokes. I just ordered WordPerfect Suite 12, so I think I
will make the transition when it arrives.
