I NEED TO INSTALL A WINDOWS SERVICE PACK. DOES ANYONE
KNOW WHERE TO GO TO DOWNLOAD THE SERVICE PACK AND THEN
INSTALL IT OFFLINE INSTEAD OF ONLINE?

THE ONLINE INSTALL VERSION ALWAYS TIMES OUT.

THANKS

Hi Mark

First, please do not write in caps as this is considered shouthing (not
polite). Furthermore, it's hard to read. With better readability your
chances of getting replies will be faster too.

Regarding your problem my suggestion is that you download the Network
Installation of SP4. Once you have downloaded it you do not have to connect
to the Internet any more to install the desired Service Pack.

The links below are for Service Pack 4, in which all earlier Service Packs
are included. If you with to install/download another Service Pack then head
to here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/default.asp.

Be sure to choose the Network Installation Download and not the Express
Download, as only the Network Installation will allow you to install the SP
without connecting to the Internet.

Go here to download it:
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/download.asp

Direct Download Link:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/6/A/E6A04295-D2A8-40D0-A0C5-241BFECD095E/W2KSP4_EN.EXE

If you don't want to download anything then you can order SP4 on CD.
Shipping+Handling costs apply. To order go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/ordercd.asp.

or:
Order the CD by Phone or Fax
Call (800) 360-7561
Fax (716) 447-7330

a.. Request part number C11-03228 for SP4 English
b.. Request part number C11-03229 for SP4 French

Using a Download Manager will allow you to interrupt/resume when you like.
Get a free Download Manager here:

LeechGet: http://www.leechget.de/

Some Shareware Download Managers are:

GetRight: http://www.getright.com

FlashGet: http://www.flashget.com/

Go!Zilla: http://gozilla.com/index.htm

and many more...

NOTE: Always backup your system *before* installing and please choose to
archive the files during Setup as this will allow you to roll back the SP
Installation in the unlikely case that problems would occur.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio

Thanks Fabio...

software program i use at work.. forgot to disengage..
