I hate Outlook 2002 and Word 2002, but need the rest of the stuff
(publisher, excel, access, etc). What can I do to downgrade to Outlook and
Work 2000?

As far as I know, that would cause you all kinds of grief with the mixed
Office System, especially going back to Word 2000. Just curious, what is it
that you don't like on the newer versions ?
Hopefully Jocelyn, Sue, Neo or another of the Office Guru's will step in
here with a firm answer for you. I have had no problems in installing new
versions of Office Programs, but have not gone the other way around.

See the post in this forum called "Outlook not cleanly shutting down". I
also have an issue in the Word forum regarding extremely long startup times
for non-templated documents (and yes, I have already killed normal.dot).
The only thing I need Office2002 for is Publisher, as my wife's collegues
use it instead of the versions we had before.

I think I'm just going to put my MCSE and my MOS's to the test and rip 2002
out and put 2000 back in. To heck with my wife's collegues.

Thanks Gerry,
I did not know about the long start time issue, but it slow on mine also..
