I want to suggest something in Vista.. maybe the next update..

you should have a feature to luck the screen without showing any screen
saver..

you know, in companies, we run several machines for monitoring and don't
want anyone to touch or change the screen..

Don't several of the screensavers themselves, have an option
that requires a password be entered before returning to the
desktop?

There are screen savers that do that - or at least for Windows 2000 there
were; that's the last full-time server admin I did. Just be careful where
you download them from.

There should be information on the msdn website to allow you to write your
own app to do this

Since Vista is a released product, you may file suggestions at

Set the screensaver to be "blank" and set the check box for "On resume, display
logon screen." Then, when you lock the PC, the screensaver will kick in at the
allotted point, but it will be a blank screen until you "wake" it up.

You can select in Vista the user has to login again after the screensaver
was active, no problem already there.

Go to personalize screen setting (right click on the desktop) screensaver ,
in the options you have the checkbox user ....
