My monitor is about to die (starting to 'fttzzz' at the back) - been a good
one (CTX 17"). Its just after Xmas so I'm broke. Looked at
Overclockers.co.uk and found a 19" Hyundai (Imagequest Q995) for only £165
inc VAT! Whats wrong with it for this price? Anyone ever had a Hyundai?
Any views? Will be using it for games and general office work including
some DTP.

Many thanks for any help, Shawk

I have an old 14" one beside me for my second PC, still working all
these years.

I just ordered a BenQ P992 19" from Amazon. It has great specs and it
was only $188.99 shipped. I don't know what it would be for you.
Hyundai's monitors are the coolest looking CRTs I have ever seen, but
they don't get very high marks in the reviews I have seen. If they had
a much better refresh rate I would have gotten one. BenQ is worth
looking at. Another monitor I seriously considered was the Samsung
955DF, which also has great specs. Check as many reviews as possible
before you buy. Goodluck!

Samsun monitors rock ;)

Sported a SyncMaster 700s, for 5yrs. Now, sporting a SyncMaster 1100DF :)

My purchase of the 1100DF was, in most part, spurred by my experience with
the 700s

YMMV

My ImageQuest F790D performs admirably @ 85hz, no problems...

Thanks to all for your views. For quick and cheap I've just gone for
another 17" for now - the Samsung Samtron 76E for £82 (about $146 US).
It'll be here tomorrow. In about 6 months or so I'll be looking to pass
this to my daughter and on the lookout for a 20" or 22" - I'll be looking
for views again then.

Thanks again, Shawk.
