Any special MS Vista Upgrade deals yet?

I am looking into buying another Window XP Pro operating system soon and I
am wondering if Microsoft has any buy now and upgrade to Vista later offers
yet?

You might want to save yourself some money and buy a copy of Windows XP
Home if you don't need the Pro features while waiting for Vista.

One thing that is a given is that there will be upgrade pricing for those
with a version of XP. And there will be full version pricing (quite a bit
more expensive). Windows XP Home qualifies for an upgrade to any Windows
Vista version.
 
If you can call 15 buck coupon when one buys a new DELL system a "deal",
which is about all any "deal" will amount to. Quite frankly, I'd expect
price increases ..
 
Sometime around early October I expect we'll start seeing free upgrade
coupons with new computer purchases from Dell, Gateway, HP, and the like.
 
I don't expect that. Even with XP they charged something. This time 'round
... hmm .. I don't feel it Colin. They might offer a 25 dollar coupon or
something.
 
I'm not talking about selling XP with a coupon. I'm talking about selling
computers with XP preinstalled and a coupon for upgrading to Vista when
Vista is available. They all did it with ME when XP was about to come out.
After seeing ME I couldn't wait for the upgrade cd to come!
 
The bone I had to pick with Compaq over the upgrade coupon was that they
insisted it had to be Home and would not support a further upgrade to Pro if
I did it. At the time it made no sense to me to install Home on a laptop
that had to join a domain at work. They were downright dense about it, in
fact. Then Microsoft offered their Go Pro deal for $75.00 and I took them
up on it.
 
When XP came out all the big stores had offers that provided $200 + in
hardware and software free when you bought XP.
 
how about those OEM deals on ebay where you bought windows 2000 pro and got
xp pro free? Will microsoft offer any of those this time around?
