hi all,

I am trying to start my computer and I am getting the error message "Invalid
System disk replace the disk and press any key" I did everything. Nothing
worked ...

So I decided to re-format the disk. Still i can change to C drive by C: and
dir. Even i could do it before. Even after the format i get the same error.
I got some suggestions that there might be some Memory (cmos) virus.

is there any tiny anti-virus to do it for me? Any other suggestion?

regards

Sorry to suggest the obvious, but are you quite sure that you don't have a
floppy disk in the drive. Most systems are still set to boot from A: first
and if the floppy isn't s system disk your computer will keep requesting a
bootable floppy.

you did make sure that there isnt a floppydisk or non bootable cdrom in there
drives before you booted?

Don't think it's a virus, but you can get a free anti-virus program for dos
from F-prot. Just Google "F-Prot" and download. It's too large to put on a
floppy so you'll have to burn it to cd, then boot your computer with a boot
disk that supports cd-rom and then switch to the f-prot directory and run
it. Hope this helps. JG

F-Prot for DOS can be run from the dos prompt with three floppies:

Of course, the program .zip has to be downloaded and extracted somewhere
before the necessary files can be copied to floppy...

Have you tried from a bootfloppy to do

sys c:
fdisk/mbr

this might restore access to your C: drive...

Hello, I am not sure if this can help, but sometimes when the antivirus
protection included on the setup screen is ON, can create problems on the OS
installation. When I have problems installing windows most times is because
the user configure the antivirus protecction.

Sometimes the problem is something so easy that we can not see it,
do you have any partition?, are you sure you formated the correct one?..
command.com file is present on C:.?
Change the setup configuration to boot only from Hard disk HHD0
are you sure your HD is not damage?

try formating with a different OS, Win95, Win98..

you have a strange problem...good luck
