Any recommendations for a replacement to my Pioneer 111D?

It's a nice burner but the audio discs it creates are not compatible with
my car stereo so I would like something else. Any recommendations?

More likely to be your burning software/regime
than the Pioneer.

It's not and I've been round and round with people helping me
troubleshoot. If I use the same machine, same software, same media with my
old NEC burner, they work, with the Pioneer, they don't. It's just some
quirk between the Pioneer and the CD player, the audio CDs work fine in
every other CD player, just not my car.

I was tempted to install my old NEC below the Pioneer but I've been warned
that having two burners will cause problems.

It wont.....I've got 2 DVD burners hooked and use them frequently

I've got two running on my kid's SO's computer right now.
One's a lot faster and also writes DVDs while the first only writes CDs.
Sometimes gets a bit confusing though, which is default.

Use better quality media.

I have always liked Lite-On drives. I have two DVDRW drives, one IDE and
one SATA (identical models just diferent interfaces) that I never have
any issues with in any CD or DVD players. LH-20A1P-186 is the IDE and
LH-20A1S-186 is the SATA.

Read first, then reply.

I did. If the discs are crap some burners won't make playable discs with
them. It's NOT a 'compatibility' issue - the CD audio format is a standard.

You're making yourself look stupid. Tell me, what brand of discs am I
using?

Actually he has a point....or 1/2 a point.
A CD Burner can be capable of burning on 4 kinds of CD's...-R +R -RW
+RW. What your car CD player is capable of interpreting we dont know...you
did not give the manufacturer.
Then there is the music format itself...if you are burning .mp3 files does
your Car Player actually play mp3's or is it only capable of the standard
"bought CD" format.
Then comes the Quality of the disk....I have bought cheap generic "Radio
Shack" DVD disks and and managed to record on them but when I place in a
LivingRoom DVD player all hell breaks loose even though I have the right
kind of DVD and the format of the movie is correct. If I buy cheap House
Brand "Staples" everything works fine.
There are a lot of variables involved......so if it works with your other CD
burner just use that and safe youself the headaches.

As stupid as claiming a non-existent 'incompatibility'?

Seeing as you've already ruled out a defective DVD burning laser in your
drive, probability would indicate that you're using either el cheapo
media or re-branded el cheapo media with a brand name that doesn't
manufacture their own media.

Unless, of course, you're such a complete ****wit that you think people
have put devices inside your head to read your mind and that's why you
where your tinfoil hat...in which case, we know exactly which media
you're using, and we're the ones who have been blocking your attempts to
jam our signal with your cd player.

cheers,

Ari

In other words, you have no idea. So shut the **** up.

Next time, read the thread before posting.

No he doesn't. He's just making assumptions. I've already been around and
around troubleshooting this issue and I know where the problem lies as I
found others with the same deck that have the same problems.

hahaha make me!

bwahahaha

And you took how many days to come up with that?

Better start googling for good media brands and then make up some BS
about using one of them, seeing as you've skirted the issue repeatedly.
Next time, read the thread before posting.

Try improving your comprehension of written English. It helps, kiddo,
really it does.

Cheers,
