After Becky's bargain keyboard (worth £300, bought for £75 in a sale) I decided to have a "play" and recall 3 years of music lessons in school only to perform a laughable rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" without chords!

I got bought a music book as a present today, so I can start learning from tonight onwards :)

I've always wanted to be able to play something, but never have! Can anyone here play any instrument?

i can kinda play the acoustic guitar. i never really gave enough time or dedication too get good. apart from that, im musically untalented.

When I was 9 I use to play an organ given to me as gift by my father, at around 20 I studied a bit of Acoustic Guitar at an institute but could not continue for long as I landed a job and had to give up.

My daughter played flute for good 5 years in the school band but now has quit and joined the school swimming team and participates in local championships. Before she quit playing flute in the school I had decided to buy her a birthday present which was a 5 octave Yamaha organ but unfortunately she never got around to using it. Its still lying there brandnew and shiny. Maybe I will start using it rather than waste it totally.

My bro is a master of the electric guitar, he got some good looking ones, ill have to get some pictures up soon!

I cant do anything with them though :/ . But i was bought a dijeree doo :p.

Peavey Tracer in bits for refit (no picture)..

Also got...

4 & 5 string bass guitars (in storage)

Drums ( no room, so sold on until I have room again :( )

I can't play a single thing :(

I've tried, had an accoustic guitar for a while, learnt me's about five or six chords, managed to knock out a few simple tunes, but no, I had to admit I'm just not talented.

I do however, love music.

And I DJ'ed for about 30 years, only gave up doing it in 2002. Mostly played Heavy Rock stuff, had a lot of good times.

Oddly enough, last ever paying booking I done was a 15th Birthday Party, in a school hall. All the other kids wanted to book me for their parties but I said 'No, I'm retired now, I'm too frickin' old'

Must have been doing something right then, I suppose ;)

I still get phone calls asking for me to do stuff, but no, it feels like a sham at this age and setting up all that equipment before anybody arrives then breaking it down after everybody's gone, got to be tiring after a whiles.

Wish I could play a musical instrument, I really do :(

Normal 4 6 & 12 string guitars, never tried 7 Was proficient enough to be in a couple of bands in the late 60's ... never released anything though.

Also play keyboard & mouth organ. I can keep the grandkids amused for 5 seconds before they want to go home. Kids these days don't no what good music is. :p

I abuse the bass guitar. i`m not intelligent enough to play a "normal" guitar. :)

I play the piano (got up to about grade 6 but never did any exams), and I also had 2 years of singing lessons, in which I got past grade 8 level. I sing mainly classical, but I love to do jazz and songs from musicals as a bit of light relief.
I can't afford singing lessons now though, because they're expensive and I'm poor! :(

If you say so, maybe, but, you are having a rich mind as all those tunes are stored up there! :D

just sing and practice keeping in tune - practice makes perfect, not that i'm its not atm...

He he!

Unfortunately. unless you're a pro (which I'm not) it's pretty difficult to teach yourself to sing properly (especially classical), but I'll (hopefully!) graduate next summer, which means I can start earning, which means I can start having lessons again :D

There seem to be lots of guitar players here, what kind of music are y'all interested in?

I listen to alot of Misfits, Ramones, Iron Maiden, and Motorhead. Bunchs of other stuff as well. I like Classical music and some opera (<--the Italian stuff)
