any more re-factoring after FP2007

When I migrated to FP2007 my image got a little bigger. Although my image
contains 9 components from the list of re-factored components, I suppose the
rollups for security, etc. more than offset any gain that re-factoring
provided. I'm wondering if there is any ongoing work on re-factoring. As a
case in point, I wanted to add the netstat command to my image but I found
that it would pull in 18 dependencies and increase my image size by more
than 15 Mbytes or for me, about 20%.

Hi Henry,
It's weird that your footprint is worse in FP07 as opposed to SP2. Security
updates generally shouldn't be introducing dependencies that have a very
visible effect on your footprint.

Lynda Allen wrote a couple of blog articles and a white paper on
WindowsForDevices.com talking about how most configurations will benefit
greatly if you can rebuild it from scratch using the core features of
interest to your scenario in order to inherit the greatest benefits of
refactoring/reduced footprint.
