Tim L.

I just purchased a new MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0,
installed the new software IntelliPoint 5.0 and love the mouse...
except about every 5 minutes or so it crashes, requests to send
the error to MS and restarts itself seemingly regardless of what
I'm doing.
I'm exhausted from searching for a similar problem or resolve via
the MS site or any other. Thought someone else here might have
run into the same problem and have a clue.
Thanks much
Tim

The U.S. military has had considerably more success in turning
Iraq around than liberals have had in turning the ghettos around
with their 40-year "War on Poverty." So far, fewer troops have
been killed by hostile fire since the end of major combat in Iraq
than civilians were murdered in Washington, D.C., last year

Well, I uninstalled for the 5th time, ran regcleaner, rebooted
and reinstalled. Couldn't find any other mouse software on my
machine, except the HID Compliant Mouse that I guess allows you
to use a mouse until you get your mouse installed. I was afraid
to remove that. My previous mouse was also a MS IntelliMouse
Explorer, so I wonder about any conflict there any way.
I guess we'll see if regcleaner did the job.
The second link was for Windows 95 & 98.
Thanks
Tim

Did you disable any services?

There seems to be a dependency on the Intellipoint software and Terminal
Services being enabled.

I believe that I disabled Terminal Services some time back
because of a security issue advisement. My previous MS Mouse
worked fine though, and it was also Optical and wireless. Would
there be a difference?
I don't even recall how to turn services on???
Tim

I searched my system for Terminal Services and couldn't find
anything, but it seems like I remember turning it off based on a
security recommendation from a tech group.

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services
Scroll down to Terminal Services, make sure the Startup type is set to
Manual.
