Any time i try and install a game or large program the installation generates
a cab error or crc error dependant on the program. this used to happen before
when i had xp installed and a fix i found on the knowlege base sorted it. it
said to change the transfer mode for the secondary IDE devices from DMA to
PIO and then back again, which always used to work.
i installed vista recently and it worked perfectly, but now im running xp
again and i get the same cab errors but this time the fix doesn't work.
any suggestions??
thanks

Hi Nuvpal,

Perhaps your antivirus software is causing the issue, or perhaps
there were scratched causing the original error which have become
larger over time. Disable your antivirus, make sure the media is
dirt and scratch free and try to install your game again. Good luck!
