This printer is chipped. When the microchip senses that the toner
cartridge is low, it will go permanently into cleaning mode. What
happens is the printer will begin cleaning after every printed page.
This significantly slows print times from an average of 20ppm to about
2ppm. Some people have suggested that refilling must be done before it
reaches a certain point. Of course, if you just install the printer's
driver(no bloatware monitoring program), there is no way to tell how much
toner is left.
So my question is does anybody know how to either reset the chip or
prevent it from running in clean mode after the toner becomes low?
One other question, is it best to remove Minolta's toner with some type
of cleaning tool before adding 3rd-party toner, or can you mix them?
Thanks.
