I offer my genuine apologies to Won Dampchin for jumping to
conclusions.

No offense taken. Respect your defense of our NG! (and TacoBell's too!)

That's nothing but a demo. The download demo does nothing except play a
short video about how the software is supposed to work. Totally
misleading.

Before you make yourself out to be as silly as me (hard to do):

The "program" is installed as a printer. You only need to open a file
and choose Print from the File menu. If PaperlessPrinter isn't the
chosen printer, choose it from the list of available printers.

Then you'll see what it can do.

Thanks in advance.

Select stuff in your .doc (while in Word or whatever program you are
editting the .doc file in) and then copy it to the clipboard - you can
press Ctrl-A to select your entire doc, then Ctrl-C to copy to clipboard.

Then, open almost any graphics program that can do some editting and saving
as .jpg (there are dozens of free ones - I like IrfanView, but you could
even use Paint that comes with Windows, except that it only does .bmp and
..gif) and Paste from the clipboard. Then save as a .jpg or whatever. Many
programs will let you resize/crop/edit... before you save.

Of course, most of the above assumes that you are running Windows
(probably the case if you are using .doc files). Something very similar
will usually work in Linux, too.

You could also do a screen grab (press Ctrl-PrtScrn) to get the entire
desktop into the clipboard. If you use something like Irfanview, it can
do screen grabs of individual windows, etc.
