Does anyone know of a good freeware PDF to Text conversion program? It
doesn't have to extract images etc. All I need is just the text. I prefer a
GUI program because I'm not very good at using command line programs.

Thanks in advance.

Adobe's reader will save to a number of different formats. Load your PDF,
click SAVE AS, then click on the dropdown box with the file types and select
your poison.

Thanks but I guess I don't have the correct version of Adobe Reader. Mine
is 6.0.25 and it doesn't have a 'SAVE AS' option, only 'Save a Copy' and
the only format option there is .PDF.

I can use 'Select Text Tool', hilite some text, save it to the clipboard
and paste it into a .txt file but I was hoping for a program that would
convert the whole .PDF file to ANSI text.

If I'm not looking in the right place or have an outdated version of
Adobe Reader please let me know.

Thanks again.

Edit\ Select All\ Copy to clipboard...Then paste it into Word.

Thank you! I never realized that that was possible.

However, will not work on all pdf's: pictures: not copied, pdf's
which start in fullscreen will only copy active page (not entire
document).

But thanks! Very useful for text-only pdf's!

Will not only work in Word (which I don't use), but also with Atlantis

Never knew tis...

If Adobe Reader doesn't, then use Foxit which does have the Save As
option
