hi guys,

I am trying to rip off the Vocal part of the song from the Musical part of
it ... something like karaoke thing ...

I just need to grab the music and remove the vocal part?

Anything available, is OT (anything commercially available) and what is it
called?

regards

RA

The Sasami Multimedia player has a voice suppression feature which is quite
successful.
It is also possible to do it manually with Audacity. I have never tried it
myself, but there is a guide in the help menu.

Or by "Pacemaker" http://sky.prohosting.com/oparviai/pacemaker/
(nagware) or "Vocal remover" (better)
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/vremover.htm plugin for
Winamp (from version 2.xx): both run in realtime.

All these softwares remove the sounds equally recorded in both channels
(left & right); you have to pray that only vocals are recorded this way
:-/
(one of the best example is "Kiss me" of the "Sixpence none the richer")

Note that
alt.binaries.sounds.karaoke
is fairly high traffic and might have the stuff you want.
