Hi everybody

Recently came across a very large video file about 720MB side and cannot
burn it to CD (max 700MB).

Would appreciate any suggestion or help on any free programs that can allow
me to split this file into a smaller size.

Thanks

Do you need to span it in viewable form, or is this simply for archival
purposes? If the latter is true, hjsplit would probably work for you.

you could try an over burn. Or just try a simulation of file to see if it can
be made to fit, if it is an .avi or .mpeg think the error correction is
different to the way normal data is stored.

Just be careful with overburning as it might damage the burner, I got
given some 99 min disks about 50 odd and the burner died not long after
they were finished. It was a very old burner and had served me well but I
now just overburn if I *really* have to as in a file that is just over
weight.
