It is pretty well known that if your system's location is set to anything
but English(US), the weather gadget will not be able to show any weather
data. Is there a fix available for this? It's got to be a pretty simple
fix..........

The weather gadgets on my computer work fine and I am not set to English US.
Perhaps it is a problem with the Betas since I am not running RTM.
However I did not have a problem with any of the Betas either.

Sorry when I wrote English US. I meant setting a Current Location other
than USA or UK..... When I set it to Hong Kong SAR, it does not work.

no problems in belgium...

Hi,

Until your location is added (and they are adding new ones all the time) to
the database, it's not going to work for you. And, there are many locations
outside the US that currently work just fine.

The funny thing is that if I set the location in the control panel/regional
settings to US, but set the weather gadget to display weather in Hong Kong,
it works. But if I set the control panel/regional settings/location to Hong
Kong, even Redmond doesn't work........

Right, as it's going to access a database that is indicated by the regional
settings.

Yeah, eh? But you are in Canada.
My system is set to:

Current format: English Canada
Location: Canada
Default input language: English (Canada) - US

Notice the input language is essentially includes the US input so the gadget
works just fine for English Canadians. Only if one starts friggin around
with French does one run into international problems. That's why Harper is
so cosy with the US and Martin was chilled. But notice that the more Harper
learns French the further away from his roots he gets. So I'm worried. Dion
has dual citizenship - Canada and France - if he gets in does he put us on
the road to hell? They'll start calling them freedom fries in northern NY
state - then what do we do? I don't like Harper but I'm not voting Dion ..
Have you heard Dion speak English? He sounds practically illiterate. And who
can trust the French anyway?
