Any experience with the long kvm cables

I have an Avocent Switchview 4 port kvm. I see the kvm cable lengths of
up to 50 feet. I am using the 6 feet cables right now, but would like
to move the computers to the next room for some peace and quiet. Will I
notice any difference in video quality or anything else by using a
longer cable with my kvm?

Thanks

I've done this with no problem. But you must have a pretty good video card
to keep the graphics moving that distance. Also the cables need to be good
quality. Mouse and keyboard are no problem.

correct...
don't try to save money with those cheap video cables...
the image will not be good...it will have a slight "ghost" to it

Yes it is almost certain there will be a difference in video
quality. Whether you can "notice" the difference depends on
the quality of cable, resolution and refresh rate used... in
addition to your eyesight and monitor. I would guess that
an average person with average monitor would have problems
at average refresh rates and average resolution with the
average cable, for whatever it's worth. Then again, you
mention 50 feet but not exactly how far it's going to the
next room... keep cables only as long as necessary.
