Any clue to my runtime error stuff? You seem to be here
and respond quickly. If you have no idea about it. I
suppose I might try re-install and choose "fix" instead of
format, huh?
Thank you !!!

Sorry, Lanwemch.... here is my first post:

I have Win2000Pro, When I am on any desktop other than an
admin desktop and I try to open the internet by dbl
clicking on the icon I get the message: "microsoft visual
C++ Runtime Library Runtime error
program:C:\WINNT\explorer.exe This application has
requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" ....
When I try to open "my computer" I get this other
message : "microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime
error program:C:\Program files\Internet
Explorer\explore.exe, This application has requested
Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" ...
then it removes all my icons and the start menu so I have
to reboot by using task manager.
When I am on any administrator desktop, this does not
happen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No prob :-)

What SP are you on? Have you checked your event logs for errors?

I don't think this is a problem with Internet Explorer, per se, it sounds
more like a problem with some plug-in.

Sounds like an ActiveX control or a Browser Helper Object has gone awry.
Download BHOdemon (Google for it), its free, and see if it can't help
straighten things out.
