I have 4000 for one or two years and I love it. It still works flawlessly.
Top quality printer. In the past, I have tried HP and Epson, there were
always problems after 3 months if no sooner. I will say, from now on, I will
use only Canon printers.

The ip5000 does take slightly longer when set at high resolution 1p
print setting, note this setting is only available on 'Photo Pape
Pro' setting and is not available on the ip4000. Other then that it'
a 2pL print or more (depending on the setting)

The ip5000 produces better prints when compared to the ip4000 at it'
best resolution, the text is just as sharp as my laser printer eve
on a standard setting and just as fast after the fuser has warme
up

Had mine over 1 year now and not one single clog to date... infac
it's never had a 'manual' head clean because of a clog... even whe
using non OEM inks

I did have a black ink leak..... when I used a 3rd party black tex
ink (pigment black - the larger tank), all was well after a goo
clean and reverting back to OEM pigment ink.... I suspected it wasn'
pigment ink but a dye based ink - it certainly looked and behave
different.... the brand I used was Xprint

So beware when replacing the large black pigment black tank with a no
OEM..... no problems at all with the colours nor the dye based blac
which is the smaller tank - just the larger black tank

you do know i'm referring to the new out just released ix printers not the
ip ones? You know the A3 models not the ones that got replaced by the i4200
and i5200?

according to pcmag tests the ip4000 provides slightly better photo
results while the ip5000 provides slightly better test results.

sounds reasonable
