hi all,

At uni we are using Matlab for data-mining tuts and labs. I tryed to
download a trial copy of the matlab but it looks like it is not available
for download and need to contact the Sales and blah blah.

I wonder is there any freeware Alternative for Matlab available?

regards,

rahman

As others have pointed out, octave and scilab work pretty well (I've
only uused them on Linux). There is even an early version of Matlab
source floatining around the Linux community

If uni means university, there are student versions of Matlab

I love freeware, but Matlab is an example of a good place to spend
cash (preferably someone else's) I used to get the Neural Net toolbax
updates, its was like a mini grad course going throught the new tool
boxes
