Antspware turns off System Restore

Potters Wheel

MS Beta Antispyware turned off SYSTEM RESTORE. And each
time I tried to turn it back on, the computer would crash;
and I'd get suggestions to check any newly installed
hardware or software to correct the problem.
I uninstalled the Antispyware and the problem cleared up
immediately. My question: Is Antispyware supposed to turn
off System Restore?
