Antivirus??

What would be a good antivirus software to use on xp that would not use up
very many resources like Norton does?

i have found and i mybe wrong that all antivirus programs
only act after you recive the bug not before and a
firewall will not stop them i have two firewalls runing
but i still get bugs. they go after high speed modems.

I have been using Norton for three years with no
problem.I do not feel that it uses too much resources and
most of all I have never had a virus get on my
system,which is the whole point of an anti-virus.

My brother and I have used eTrust EZ Antivirus from Computer Associates for
several years and are very happy with the performance. I too had Norton's
2003 AV and I had nothing but problems, plus I did not like that I had to go
to their website and download definitions manually. eTrust, like many
others; automatically download. Just my experience on a win98 system, Steve

AVG antivirus, from Grisoft. They have a free version I use.

Norton 2002 and up has Automatic Updates. The manual downloads are not
necessary for the average user, as anything serious will be released to
LiveUpdate.

Save yourself some money on the NAV 02 LiveUpdate. When your one year
free subscription runs out, just uninstall NAV and immediately
re-install it. Voila, you now have another free year. Works like a
charm!
