I dont know about all of you but I have found a program
that works just great with microsofts a/s beta I was
having a lot of adware and stuff sneak thru my symantec so
I deleted it and picked up CA EZ antivirus it can be got
at microsofts security page and you get to try it for free
for 12 months (cool) well since I loaded it a week ago no
adware / no spyware and only one trojan got by zone alarm
and microsofts beta and EZ got it quarantined it and when
I was done and rebooted it deleted it and no more
problems. I still use lavasoft and spybot ( not the beta )
and a few other things to kill them if they are found but
my primary are now EZ and the microsoft beta ( PS no
conflicts at all not like with NOD32 / and KAv ect)

How do you think CA EZ Antivirus compares to Norton/Symantec antivirus?
Just curious - I used IBM-AV at one time and wasn't really happy, used
McAfee but didn't like it, have tried AVG and AntiVir as well but have done
well with just Norton Antivirus.

well personally I cannot afford norton I have family
members that buy the whole norton security suite every
year and love it and have no problems I cannot say
anything bad about symantec except I have had more
compatibility problems trying out other software with
symantec I finally just deleted it from my system and so
far I am very happy with this confiq. Now to answer the
exact question I think it compares vary well when I had
symantec a couple viruses and a whole lot of adware and
spyware were getting thru and yes I was updating every
time I logged on, when symantec caught something rarely it
would quaranteen but would not delete it now with EZ a/v
if something is caught it is quarenteened and deleted
nothing is showing up now. I think I can safely let the
program speak for itself dont you John.

There are no perfect choices.

Trend Micro has an excellent reputation and is very prevalent in Japan.
They tweaked their defs late last week or over the weekend to include
decompressing a newer compression method used by some viruses. They missed
a step in testing the rev'd definitions, let them out to the world, and the
new version locked CPU usage at 100%. Whole networks were locked up for
hours while they tried to figure out what was causing the issue. (seems to
me that they could improve their troubleshooting skills a bit, but.....)
