Looking for suggestions for an antivirus program that works well with
Windows Vista. Do we have any recommendations/experience?

Thanks.

Windows Live Care. It's by Microsoft. It has more incentive than anyone to
design an AV that works well with the operating system.

Avast

Free for home use.

It works.

Light on system resources.

You should check some of the prior posts in this newsgroup. Been
asked/answered, and discussed many times.

I use AVG free and it has been great for several years. It is also vista
compatable and does not ahve the same horrible (my opinion) user inteface
that avast has.

I'm testing Avast at the moment - quite a nice one - but I heard that Nod32
should be the best - I think I will give it a try?! Ok, it costs a bit of
money - but I think it's worth paying for software which is good -
especially in that area.

What about your opinions? Some experiences in using Nod32 & Vista?

NOD32 is the best. That's not just my opinion, but it's based on independent
testing. No other AV over the last 4 years has been as consistent and effective
as NOD32. The real beauty of it, NOD32 accomplishes this *without* being a
drag on your system. It's peace of mind I am willing to pay for.

With the release of Vista, I suspect we'll be seeing a LOT of 'new
users' to the newsgroup -- the 'search first' ask questions later
protocol is one more likely to be missed than used..

AVG Free edition does a great job.Don't hardly know it is there.Been using
it for 5 years now without a problem. And it is free. Works great on Vista
also.

I agree, but since others have answered the OP's question I wanted to give
them some advice that might help in the future before posting again. If no
one had answered, I would have provided more info.

OK -- works for me. With something like 1000 messages a day in this
newsgroup, I CAN empathize with the gentle prodding to thin the traffic
out a bit.
