I have been having trouble with my updating my Norton's
Antivirus: I tried to update Norton's and began to receive
an error message that said:
n-CASE Alert
The system has detected that a third-party application has
removed n-CASE, possibly w/o your consent. This may cause
some programs not to run as expected. Please choose an
option below.
Options:
R-install n-CASE so that your programs will run as
expected. Requires internet connectivity.
Leave n-CASE un0installed, and clean-up any n-CASE files
or settings that remain.
Remind me later.

I clicked on the button to reinstall n-CASE and now I'm
getting a message that Norton's Antivirus couldn't install
because of a corrupt file.
I also found the following entry in my 'System
Information/Software Environment/Windows Error Reporting':
8/11/2003 7:58 AM Application Error Faulting
application msbb.exe, version 4.2.0.0, faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address
0x00040005.

Is there any advice you can give me to find a solution to
my problem? I really need the security afforded by
Norton's but since the n-CASE has been replaced and
Norton's still can't be operated I need HELP!

You may have some "spyware" installed on your computer.
Visit http://spybot.eon.net.au/index.php?lang=en&page=start
and download the Spybot utility program and then run it.

How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus by using the Rnav2003.exe removal utility
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2001092114452606

Use the above utility to remove all traces of a previous version of Norton AntiVirus,
reboot and begin the re-installation of Norton 2002 or 2003 AntiVirus.
