I know that my antivirus definitions are not up to date. LiveUpdate keeps on telling me that they are. I previously had a problem with the virus scan which would not complete, but I solved that. All this could? be due to a scan kicking in as I was playing Silent Hunter 2. Any advice please.

goto www.symantec.com and dl the manual virus definitions update. reinstalling ur av wouldnt hurt either

How do you know they are not? If you're running the Auto LiveUpdate,
you shouldn't have to do it manually. Check the date on your virus
definitions when you open NAV.

I set my NAV to run late at night when I know I'll be asleep, that way
NAV doesn't interfere with anything. If you were able to run a scan
on it's own, I wouldn't worry about the fact that one didn't complete.
