AntiVirus MalWare SpyWare Protection

I have this new 'MS Security Essentials' Software installed on my computer.
Is this used WITH or INSTEAD of AntiVirus Software like Norton, Mcaffee, AVG
Etc..
Also what if I installed 'Windows Defender', would these two applications
along with Windows FireWall be enough protection for my system without any
other software running? I don't quite understand what all these different
packages do when it comes to Real-Time protection and what exactly each
application is protecting me from. What about 'Windows Live OneCare'? if i
just had that running on it's own does it do the job of all the others put
together? How many do I need? and what are the best ones to choose from,
without having all these programs running and draing my system resources?

MSE is an Antivirus with Anti-malware scanner definitions and you will n't
be able to install another Anti-virus with it, because they will conflict and
also not recommended!

With another Anti-malware, MS Firewall and MSE you will be protected. Bt
make sure the scan option set to Full Scan not a Quick Scan to get a better
result from the scan>
