antivirus in XPe running on CF media with EWF

We are designing an XPe image that will run on mobile equipment connected to
a 802.11 network (which is connected to our corporate network), and will be
installing an antivirus client. On workstations and servers we currently use
Symantec AV Corp 8.1. We have tested this client in our current XPe image and
it operates appropriately.

Does anyone know of a method for using this client's standard update
mechanism with EWF? Would it be possible to use DUA to update the virus
definitions? Is there any reason that it would not be wise to use this client
with XPe? I see that there are some XPe specific AV solutions out there. Any
reccomendations? What makes an XPe specific AV solution better for XPe than a
regular AV client?

File Based Write Filter is the feature you'll be interested in, wrt
servicing an application's files on a volume you're trying to protect
instead of using EWF.

For the AV specific questions, the E-Trust product from CA is a component
and was optimized to reduce footprint, if i'm not mistaken i think some of
the components may also have been optional for very footprint constrained
devices. Other than reduction in footprint, generally the features available
were identical between the XPe version and XP-Pro version.

For the DUA question, if the application allows you to replace the
definition files yourself, then DUA is a good solution here for servicing.
