I am looking for antivirus software for a home network I am setting up. I
know AVG has a good reputation, but the home page states very clearly "IT
CAN NOT BE INSTALLED IN ANY NETWORKED ENVIRONMENT!" Any suggestions?
TIA

Your interpretation of the statement

CAN NOT BE INSTALLED IN ANY NETWORKED ENVIRONMENT

is equivalent to a product warranty that is void as soon as a defect occurs.

Since EVERYONE is networked ... so your interpretation means that no one can
use AVG.

Clearly that can't be.

I also think you have misinterpreted the statement. I have a home network set up with two computers. One of the computers is using AVG free edition, the other is using Avast! . Both are working perfectly, knock on wood.
The statment says that the free edition cannot be installed on a SERVER for any reason. I take that to mean a server used for business purposes.

From the AVG EULA:
"2. You may install and use only one copy of the Software for single home
or non-commercial organization computer protection only, irrespective of
the number of times you download the Software or the number of licenses
you purport to accept.

3. You may not use the Software on a network or more than one PC."

Of course this would be open to one's interpretation of "one" and
"single" :)

I run AVG on all machines in my home network, all 4 machines.
I agree that they can, though can be slow depending on network
type, my home setup was using the old ISA cards and BNC.
