Hello!

I installed AntiVir Personal recently. It seems to work correctly,
except for a problem:

- When running AntiVir Guard and I run a MS-DOS application, the system
freezes for 3 or 4 seconds. Then the applications run as expected.

Q: What can be causing this problem? I know that it's AntiVir because if
I disable it, the applications run without this freeze.

Thanks!

You answered your own question. When invoking the DOS application, the
on-access AV first verifies the file before letting the OS to open it. The
verification may take longer if the inspected program is run-time compressed.

Looks like, as I opened the DOS app with an HEX editor [1] and found
it's run-time compressed.

[1] Actually, the DOS app is an HEX editor with disassembler/executable
header info, which I like. So, I opened the app with itself! :D
